2012 Spring Conference
The National Healthy Start Association (NHSA) invites you to join us for our 13th Annual Spring Conference on March 11-14, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
The mission of NHSA is to be our nation’s voice in providing leadership and advocacy for health equity, services, and interventions that improve birth outcomes and family wellbeing. As part of our mission, NHSA promotes the development of community-based maternal and child health programs, particularly those addressing the issues of infant mortality, low birthweight and racial disparities in perinatal outcomes, through community engagement and grassroots efforts. The 2012 conference promises to educate, motivate, and promote collaboration among our 500+ attendees made up of Healthy Start project directors and staff, health care providers, MCH professionals, social workers, outreach workers, and consumers. This year’s theme, Our Blueprint for the Future: Building Healthy Families, encompasses everything that Healthy Start does across the nation to provide families with the tools they need to build a strong foundation of total health and wellness. This includes embracing fathers or male figures to make positive choices for their families, empowering moms to seek the care they need to ensure a healthy pregnancy, and educating MCH professionals to include both moms and dads in treatment care plans for their children. The 2012 conference will provide attendees with a framework of the fundamental makeup of a healthy family.
