From The Foundation for Delaware County:

With our CAN, the Foundation will host a screening of the documentary Aftershock, and a community conversation about the Black maternal health crisis on Friday, December 2nd, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., at Alumni Auditorium on Widener University’s campus in Chester, PA.

Shawnee Gibson Benton and Omari Maynard – the mother and partner of Shamony Gibson, one of the mothers lost to this crisis and featured in this film – will be joining some of our CAN partners in the panel following the film.  This film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival over the summer and is streamable on Hulu.  Here is our link to the registration where you can also see additional speaker information. We have CEs approved for physicians, nurses and social workers:  https://delcofoundation.org/aftershock-film-screening/.

Fatherood webinar on the third Thursday of the month.

We are proud to announce that Congress has passed legislation providing $145 million in funding for the Healthy Start program for Fiscal Year 2026 (October 2025 through September 2026). This critical investment reinforces our nation’s commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes in communities that need it most. Learn more here.
